ABOUT
KINDRED SPIRIT

"New Bird Series"
Artist: ED WAFFLE

A LIVING EXHIBITION OF MIGRATION, ADAPTATION AND COEXISTENCE.

Kindred Spirit is a coexistence project. It explores how people and animals navigate a world in flux, where unstable economies, food deserts, labor pressures, housing instability, habitat loss, and environmental change intersect and shape our lives. It is an invitation to see the shared conditions that shape our choices, and to imagine a future we build together.

Why This Exhibition matters

Across our cities and communities, people and animals share the same fragile landscapes. When economies falter, it is families and workers who feel the strain. When food systems fail, hunger deepens. When housing becomes unstable, neighborhoods fracture. When habitats disappear, animals are pushed out along with us.

These forces are not separate stories. They are connected. Our futures are interconnected. The choices we make today determine what kind of cities, communities, and living systems we share tomorrow.

We do not move through the world alone.

Our futures are shared.

Our responsibility is shared.

The urgency now.

Art Becomes

Evidence

The data tells us what is happening. Art makes us feel what it means.

Across the world, communities are being reshaped by war, economic instability, food insecurity, rising costs, climate pressure, and displacement.

At the same time, forests are disappearing, habitats are fragmenting, migration routes are disrupted, and species are being pushed into unfamiliar territory.

Kindred Spirit places these realities in conversation. The work does not lecture. It witnesses.

It asks us to look again at the systems we live inside — the streets we build, the food we depend on, the land we consume, the animals we displace, and the people asked to survive the consequences.

Artists become translators of urgency. They turn statistics into memory, policy into image, and crisis into something the public can see, carry, and respond to.

“This exhibition speaks for the voiceless.”
